I've been told if I make a wish 
On a star that's shiny and bright 
That an angel will hear that spoken wish 
Sometime before it's light.

The angels know the stars by name 
Our Father taught them that 
They know the one that's wished upon 
About them they do chat.

They take each wish as it's sent above 
Sort them out and put them in place 
Grant those first for someone in need 
For someone with tears on their face.

Don't give up on the wish you make 
If it's not granted right away 
Have faith that it's in an angel's care 
To our Father they will convey.
